Quantitative PCR (qPCR) and reverse transcription qPCR (RT-qPCR) are utilized to monitor the amplification of a targeted DNA molecule and for quantification of mRNA, microRNA and lncRNA expression, respectively. It is well known that qPCR based approaches for gene expression studies have a superior sensitivity, specificity, linear dynamic range of quantification, next to a high level of flexibility, making RT-qPCR the gold standard for targeted expression analysis for diagnostic purposes.

- SNP genotyping
- customized qPCR-based applications such as detection of viral sequences
As expert qPCR service provider, Biogazelle supports any qPCR-based application, using either off-the-shelf qPCR assays or including custom primer design.
Biogazelle founders are internationally recognized qPCR experts
Biogazelle’s founders prof. dr. Jo Vandesompele and dr. Jan Hellemans have published landmark papers in the field of qPCR based gene expression analysis, being cited more than 20,000 times. In our laboratories, we have processed tens of thousands of clinical samples, including various types of body fluids and FFPE material using qPCR for quantification of both protein coding messenger RNAs and non-coding microRNAs and long non-coding RNAs.
